Collapse ▲In conjunction with our 2025 N.C. Cooperative Extension State Conference, CALS Dean Garey Fox and other college leaders will host a community forum to share the latest updates on college and Extension news during lunch on Tuesday, Jan. 7, from 12-12:45 p.m. in the Guilford Ballroom.

The CALS Community Forum will celebrate shared achievements from 2024, explore strategic goals for 2025 and feature a panel discussion on the everyday uses of AI. Panelists include AI adopters from both N.C. A&T and NC State, who will explore the transformative role of AI in our work.
The meeting will also be live-streamed via Zoom at go.ncsu.edu/cals-community-forum.
Highlights of the forum will include:
- A progress report on the search for the next associate dean and director of NC State Extension;
- An update on NC State’s Strategic Plan and key initiatives;
- A panel discussion on practical applications of artificial intelligence from writing emails to developing project outlines;
- A spotlight on the partnership between NC State and N.C. A&T; and
- A celebration of 110 Years of Extension programs, including 4-H and career-readiness initiatives.
The forum will also explore how the Extension network is supporting recovery efforts in Western North Carolina, advancing research and best practices through global partnerships, and driving innovation with sustainable agriculture technologies.
